What is Wi-Fi 6E?

Wi-Fi 6E is an extension of Wi-Fi 6 which operates in the new 6GHz frequency band instead of the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands.

You might have heard about Wi-Fi 6, which arrived back then in 2019. It connects you to the internet, it's a more advanced way to connect to the internet. Wi-Fi 6E increases efficiency which speeds up connections.

Wi-Fi 6E makes routers communicate with more devices at once and send data to multiple devices in one broadcast, which lets Wi-Fi devices schedule check-ins with the routers. This will then keep connections strong even when there are more devices connected, demanding data.

With Wi-Fi 6E you get up to 1200Mbps via a 160MHz channel and 600Mbps per stream via an 80Mhz channel. Wi-Fi 6E has an improved low latency with less than 1 millisecond and it offers higher capacity with higher numbers of users.

Wi-Fi 6E has less interference as the frequency spectrum is not common to any wireless household devices. If you want to buy gadgets such as phones, laptops and smart home appliances which will be released this year and support it you can then find a router that has Wi-Fi 6E. New devices which support Wi-Fi 6E will show a logo on the packages.
