Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review

This is the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review. The S21 Ultra is Samsung's flagship phone. The high-end phone by Samsung with some features which stand out. Are these features worth skipping the lower end S21 phones and is the S21 Ultra worth all the extra money? Let's find out in this full review.

The front of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 6.8 dynamic AMOLED screen with a punch-hole camera cutout for the selfie cam. It is not too curved and has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz QHD resolution. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is adaptive to the content you're watching on the screen.

So when touching the screen or let's say scrolling you get a smooth experience. The S21 Ultra screen can tone down to 10Hz to save energy mmm clever indeed. As for picture quality, the S21 Ultra has the best OLED screen on any smartphone with a pixel density of 515ppi.

The pictures are sharp and very clear which gives you vivid colours and you get 10 HDR support. As for brightness, the S21 Ultra is phenomenal. It is great when you're outdoors you won't get any problems at all.

Design & Build

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a phone which is very elegant when it comes to design. Looking at the back it is made of curved gorilla glass which goes into the aluminium frame. This is gorilla glass victus which covers the display for much extra protection.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is IP68 rated waterproofing. It has a matte finish on the back and avoids fingerprints left on it and is great in the hand. What you notice as soon as you look at it is the signature metal camera bump which wraps around the edge and folds into the frame.

Battery, Charging & Wi-Fi 6E

The S21 Ultra has excellent battery life. It has a 5000mAh battery it is way better than the S20 Ultra. On a side note, Samsung won't include a charging adapter in the box so you will have to find a separate one elsewhere Buy a charging adapter here

The S21 Ultra supports 21W wired charging from 0-50% in 30 minutes. And there is support for 10W wireless and reverse wireless charging. The S21 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 6E What is Wi-Fi 6E

S-Pen Stylus

There is support for an S-Pen stylus which you would only find on the Note series. You, however, have to buy it separately and there is nowhere to hold it like the Galaxy Note so you can find a case. You can draw with it, access shortcuts and take advanced screenshots. There are no Bluetooth functions for now. There will be supported by the S-Pen Pro.

The Improvements

There is an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint which is now improved with fast response. There is no headphone jack or support for storage expansion. So you can opt for 128GB or 256GB of storage. The Samsung S21 Ultra features an 888 Snapdragon 12GB RAM or an Exynos 12GB or 16GB RAM.

As for the camera, the Ultra is outstanding. It has a 108MP (Main, f1/8, OIS)+12(f/2.2, ultrawide, AF) 10MP(10x zoom, f/4.9 OIS)+ 10MP(3x zoom, f2.4, OIS). At the front, there is a 40MP selfie camera with autofocus. The 12MP main camera captures excellent photos especially during the day but a bit over sharpened.

The 12MP ultrawide shoots very good images with nice colours but appear a bit over-processed. The 10MP 3x telephoto photos are upscaled to 12MP these are good with low noise and very nice dynamic range.

As for low light photos from the main camera, they are very good but the detail is not impressive. When it comes to night mode the details are impressive and the highlights have much lower noise.

The selfie camera is great especially and when it gets down to portrait photos the S21 Ultra is the best of the best. Nothing beats the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra when it comes to the selfie camera portrait photos.

The selfie camera shoots good videos which are excellent and sharp. At the back the video quality is excellent even at 4K @ 30fps, 10x zoom camera. From the back, you can also shoot videos up to 8K

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a great phone with the best AMOLED screen on a phone yet and excellent battery, Wi-Fi 6E, S-Pen support and a new flagship chipset.

No headphone jack or expandable storage though and even a charging adapter is not included in the box. So this is a great flagship phone. If the price isn't an issue I would highly recommend you get the S21 Ultra. That's the Galaxy S21 Ultra full review catch you on the next one.
