More than 4 trillion photos are stored in Google Photos and Google Photos is ending unlimited free storage, this is what you need to know

To encourage people to sign up for Google One storage subscription service, Google Photos will soon cap your free storage at 15GB.

Google Photos is ending it's unlimited free storage policy for photos and videos. Any new videos and photos you upload will count towards the free 15GB of storage that comes with every Google account. This will start after June 1, 2021.

If you upload any photos or videos before June 1, 2021, it won't be part of the cap. So, you might be wondering how much do I need to pay for Google One? Google One plans start at as low as $2 a month for 100GB of storage with other features like Google Store discounts.

It is rather wise for you to back up your existing photos, and videos up in Google Photos before the deadline date. These are exempted and free from storage limit for now.
